Carlos Kulas-Dominguez brings nearly two decades of experience serving youth, families, educators, and community partners across our community. Carlos believes in the potential of every student because he has seen it first hand working in our district as an educator and administrator and advocating for children at Michigan CASA, Cherry Health Foundation, and Camp Blodgett. Carlos has spent decades elevating marginalized voices, championing belonging, and creating environments where every person feels valued. Growing up in a neighborhood marked by violence, drugs, and economic neglect continues to fuel Carlo’s commitment to ensuring opportunity is never determined by circumstance. Now, Carlos is running for GRPS School Board to advocate for all all our students, educators, and families.

Priorities

I am running for the Grand Rapids Public Schools Board because I believe every scholar deserves the opportunity to succeed, every educator deserves the support to thrive, and every family deserves a voice in the decisions that shape our schools. Every School should be created equitably so that ALL families feel confident accessing any school across the district!
